Visiting Thailand for tourism purpose, Ordinary passport holders of 41 countries, including the United States, European Union countries, Japan,and Australia, are exempted from Thai Visa. They have the facility of staying in the Kingdom for 30 days without visa by Thai law. Visa-on-arrival is available at certain entry points for passport holders of 14 other nations, including India, China and the Russian Federation.Thai immigration law states that one must have return/onward ticket in order to be admitted without a visa at the airport.Thai immigration requires visitors passports to have a minimum of 6 months validity and at least one completely blank visa page remaining.
Bangkok is one of Asia's largest hubs; practically every airline that flies to Asia also flies to Bangkok, meaning competition is stiff and prices are low. There are also international flights directly to/from Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Ko Samui, Phuket, and U-Tapao (Pattaya).
